Points to consider before hiring a junk removal company

Updated: Apr 30, 2021

When you begin your search for a junk removal company, you may find that there’s an overwhelming amount of options. The question is, “how do I go about deciding which to choose?” We’ve compiled a list of the top 3 things to consider when hiring a junk removal company.

1) The first thing that customers tend to consider is price, so we may as well start there. While it’s not obvious that the best bet is to look for the lowest price, you certainly don’t want to overpay. One thing to keep an eye out for is unfixed pricing – this is an old trick in the industry which allows for prices to fluctuate based on dump costs, and almost always results in overcharging.

2) Next, you will want to get a good idea of what your job is and whether the company you’re looking for has the capacity to handle it. Do you have a hot tub that needs removal? That’ll require a saw and a reasonably sized trailer to haul away. When you contact the company, articulate your needs as clearly as possible so that they don’t show up ill-equipped and waste your time!

3) The next thing to consider is the reputation of the company itself. What do their customers have to say about them? Are they showing up on time? Are they damaging things while they work? Take the time to glance through their reviews and see what you find.

We strongly recommend that you do your research online before deciding on a company. This is an industry where there’s all too many people who take advantage of customers, finding creative ways to overcharge or do a shoddy job (maybe taking less than they claimed or leaving the place looking worse than when they came).
